The Monster Elusive

Half of my life now behind me, and a monster living inside me…clawing and tearing and killing me slowly, leaving me not very holy.

Believe me I’ve spent a great many years searching my mind and my soul, for the elusive map not leading to treasure, instead to a life not lived old.

Nor is it life with worldly success, I buried my talents, I must now confess, that living this life of pain and unrest, covered in shame, and feeling oppressed  war-torn and bloody; coming undressed the burden so heavy a priest may be needed sometimes I am very possessed.
